In collaboration with FotoFestival Naarden, Pf Magazine is organising a debate about a place for professional photography in the Netherlands: Platform Fotografie Nederland on June 12 at 15.00.
The directors of seven photography institutions wish to address the Minister of Culture Ingrid van Engelshoven. In the recently issued advice from the Council for Culture, a place for professional photography is lacking. In a world in which image communication, and in particular photography, has penetrated all areas of society there is a need for a Netherlands Photography Platform, intended as a source of ideas, network place and point of contact.
The debate will be led by Ton Hendriks, editor-in-chief of Pf. Joining him will be: Lars Boering, director of World Press Photo, Kees van der Meiden, director of Noorderlicht, Bas Vroege, director of Paradox, Femke Rotteveel, director of Fotodok, Theo Andriessen, business director of BredaPhoto, Birgit Donker, director of Nederlands Fotomuseum and Suzanne Henning, director DuPho.
